  I stayed a total of 6 nights at the hostel, and I was truly sad to leave my 'Granada Family'. Makuto made my trip to Granada an unforgettable one!

  firat of all, the location is perfect. To Alhambra it takes 10-15min and to downtown only 5-6min. All of hosts are very nice and can also meet many good guests as well. But the shower room and wifi can a bit uncomfortable.

  Friendly staff, close to so many good view in albaicin. To get there you have to walk and climb up many stairs or just take taxi if you bring heavy stuff. The bathroom not so clean, also the bed is not comfortable. Great place for Solo traveler, you can easily make friend and hang out.

  Anyone who stays at this hostel must participate in the free evening walk! Every night, a volunteer leads an evening tour that takes you to areas that provide some of the best views of the city and of Alhambra! The walk ends at the caves of Sacromonte where one is able to mingle with some of the occupants and watch the sun set behind the Sierra Nevada Mountains! The experience is incredible and it is a great way to get to know people at the hostel. Once you complete the walking tour, I would recommend participating in the dinner prepared by one of the volunteers; it is another great way to get to know your fellow travelers.

  Makuto was my first hostel experience and it was exceptional! Comments made by fellow travelers who have stayed in countless hostels voiced the same. The moment you step through the door, you experience the warm, familiar, and friendly environment! I was immediately offered a glass of water and the volunteers took the time to sit with me and give me a thorough overview of the city and sites! The hostel provides an environment that is conducive to an anxious first time solo traveler who was nervous about whether or not they were going to meet people! The main courtyard is complete with a cute bar, plenty of tables, hammocks, and a treehouse! I immediately met some truly friendly people in the courtyard once I settled into my room.

  Great hostel, great atmosphere with a gorgeous courtyard, very central HOWEVER I have to only give it 3 stars as I'm pretty sure I have bed bug bites from sleeping on the bottom bunk on the floor (felt itching throughout the night). Good overall experience
